You also need to make sure that any commercial thing you get is
certified for Windows 8 as there are reports out that some don't work
with Windows 8.

In fact, you need to *avoid Windows 8*.  Windows 8 offers no benefits
for the typical desk/laptop user, has a completely confusing interface
and breaks a lot of hardware.
