Goes to show you that push-button contesting needs more buttons.

WPX N6ML N6ML CQ

N6ML 599XTOGPAQU DE W1ABC

W1ABC AGAIN N6ML

N6ML 599 017 017 DE W1ABC

W1ABC QSL 599 325 325 N6ML

I never send*his *report until I have *my* report. Actually I usually add a CQ to the end of the last one. But that is not best practice.

CQ TEST N6ML N6ML CQ

< N6ML 599XTOGPAQU DE W1ABC

W1ABC 599 325 325 W1ABC

< TU 73 W1ABC

NR? NR?

Surely you don't log a QSO that you don't have a report for do you Bill?
Read a little closer. I said I didn't get their report, and because of
that, caused by arrogant behavior they are not logged. I log a lot of jerks
in the average contest with 1000 plus QSO's, that just the law of averages,
but I am not going to guess at a report and log it, just to make work for
the log checkers,

I'm afraid it's you who needs to read a little closer.

I said I never send my report until I have theirs. If I don't get their
report first time, I send AGN AGN (requesting a repeat) until I get it. I
never send my report until I have theirs. Never.
But if you're CQing, you generally send your report first. The problem
scenario is this:

CQ TEST N6ML N6ML CQ
< N6ML 599XTOGPAQU DE W1ABC
W1ABC 599 325 325 W1ABC
< TU 73 W1ABC
NR? NR?
[nothing - he's gone]

So what do we think is the appropriate protocol here. Should we refuse
to send a report to him until he calls us properly, with only his
callsign, and not his report?
