You are overcomplicating the matter since the different situations between the 
two stations are separable and symmetric.

You only need to look at what happens when a transmitter (any transmitter) has 
USOS enabled, and when a receiver (any receiver) has USOS enabled.  That is a 
total of 4 cases.
