The Arduino Micro has almost the same form factor as the Nano, but with 2 extra
pins. It is often mistaken for the Arduino Nano.
If you already have the Micro instead of the Nano, and if your OS enumerates
USB CDC devices as landline serial modems, you might be able to coax your
software to use an Arduino Micro instead of Arduino Nano. On Mac OS X, a USB
CDC device appears in the same enumeration as USB serial ports, and I have been
using USB CDC and USB serial port interchangeably.
The "Arduino Nano v3.00 by Arduino" that is on Amazon's web site is not a real Arduino,
by the way, but a knock off by iTead Studio of China; they had ripped off even the
"Arduiino" name, but not the Arduino logo. But that one too has the same pin outs as the
real Arduino Nano .
