With a 15 second history, you could miss the run station's signal while he is trying to copy a calling station that you can't hear. Stretch that out to 2-3 minutes and try that. As you mentioned, the waterfall display time is adjustable: On the left flag, click DISPLAY, then slide the RATE button.
