The thing that has killed ham radio nets is the Internet. Here we are
chatting on a reflector instead of on the air. If you want to give it
a try, go for it but don't be too surprised if it bombs.
Contesting and DXing are still alive because they don't lend
themselves to the Internet.
Time has marched on.
