and if one ponders LOTW ->  it requires both parties to upload logs before
a QSL exists.   If your the first upload ->  no QSL hits, but the QSLs roll
in later as folks upload.

If upload log 2 or 3 months after contest, more folks you contacted have
uploaded and zing,  a much higher QSL percentage at time of upload.
everyone can't upload and expect to see high % of qsl hits.
example:   Uploaded ARRL RU log to LOTW, there were 788 confirmed QSLs
instantly.   All that meant were those folks beat me to the upload.
An amazing number of RTTY QSOs get LOTW confirmed within six months of the
QSO.
Same for FT8.
