This weekend, we have CQ WW RTTY contest plus SAC SSB, three state QSO
parties and a QRP contest.
1. CQ WW DX Contest RTTY. 00Z Sat to 24Z Sun. 80-10 M. Exchange:
RST+State or VE area+CQ Zone and for DX RST + CQ Zone. Most of us are
in zone 05. Ala stations are in Zone 04. Work all stations for points

2. Tesla Cup. SSB: 00Z Sat to 24Z Sat. CW: 00Z Sun to 24Z Sun.
160-10M. Exchange: 4 character grid square.

announced for the past several years, but I have never heard anybody
operating in it.
3. SAC (Scandinavian Activity Contest) SSB. Sat 12Z to Sun 12Z. 80 -

4. Texas QSO Party. 14Z Sat to 02Z Sun. 14Z to 20Z Sun. Exchange:
RS(T) + County or SPC/MM Region. CW: 40 to 60 khz up. SSB: 3875,
7250, 14250, 21320, 28300 to 28500. Spotting nets permitted. County
line stations must exchange separate QSOs for each county. Has a QRP
and a CW only category. Bonus of 500 points for each working Texas
mobiles in 5 or more counties. Webpage gives access to home page where
a list of official abbreviations for TX counties may be downloaded.

parties with a lot of activity on CW and on SSB. A lot of mobiles will
be out. There are 257 different counties in the state.
5. Arkansas QSO Party. 14Z Sat to 06Z Sun. 18Z Sun to 02Z Mon.
CW, PH, Digital. 80 - 10 M + 2M. Has categories for HP, LP, and QRP
and a PSK category. Exchange: RS(T) + Ark County or SP or "DX." cw:
50 khz up. Ph: 3980, 7260, 14260, 21360, 28360. Bonus points for
working W5YM and for working any ARRL affiliated club station in AR.

6. Alabama QSO Party. Sat 18 to 24Z. (Note both Sun and Mon dates
have been mentioned here and elsewhere, but the correct date is Sat even
if the webpage may still say Sept 26.) 160 M to UHF. high, low, and
QRP categories. Exchange: RS(T) + AL county or state. DX stations
need send only report. Mults count per band! There are also power

7. Fall QRP Homebrewer Sprint Contest. 00 to 04Z Mon (Sun night
local). 80 - 10 M. CW + PSK31. Exchange: RST + SPC + power output.
Mults count per band. More QSO points for use of homebrew gear. Usual
CW frequencies are 3560, 7040, 14060, 21060, 28060.
