About all I managed to get up this year was a 75/80 meter crossed dipole
deal. I just cut two inverted V's, one high and one low and I get a
great SWR of 1.5 very low and 1.5 very high. Thus I can do the entire
band with no problem or tuner. Seems to do a decent job on that band
around the country.
On 40 I re-arranged my 450 fed vertical loop. Got it a bit wider and
more broadside e/w. Haven't had a chance this season to do much with it
tho. And of course I am thinking of how to get a higher angle for 40.
I put up a 50 foot tower and my TA-33SR which is working fine on the
higher bands, but like you Jeff I think I need something else on 40.
I tried a CF Zepp last year, but in got too close to the other wires
here and between the squirrels and the winds it came down.
I think I'll just try a simple inverted vee coax fed on 40 off the
tower. Any thoughts guys?
