This question has been solved to some extent....
Lee, AA4GA, sent me a note and comment about the above question.
While typing my response to him, it occured to me that I could do
a word search on the file version of the manual (ver 6.25) for
'band changes'. I did so and bingo! It showed me this:
HOUR DISPLAY Values: THIS HOUR, LAST SIXTY MINUTES or BAND
CHANGES Control-J
This parameter determines how the hour rate display works. In
the THIS HOUR mode, it shows the number of QSOs made during the
current hour (starting at 15:00 for example). In the LAST SIXTY
MINUTES, it shows the number of contacts made during the last 60
minutes. The BAND CHANGES mode will count how many band changes
have been made since the new hour began. The default is THIS
HOUR.
==================
This still doesn't answer my question as to why the Band Changes
window only showed up for a few seconds before reverting back to
display the # of QSO's in the Last Sixty Minutes. But, at least,
I now know that such a command does exist. And more importantly,
where it is in the manual.
I am now convinced there are things in this world I am not
destined to know or understand. There is a phenomenon associated
with the TRLog Manual in which each night gnomes or elves sneak
into the shack and make changes to the manual--usually additions;
things that weren't there the last time I pored through looking
for them--maybe it's just my manual..
Just when the learning curve seems to be leveling off, the upward
slope increases. This is better than crossword puzzles. Thanks,
Tree!!
