Hi Dale:

Check out the December 1997 issue of QST.  Steve Ford, WB8IMY, has an
article entitled "On the Road, The Joys of HF Mobile" on page 51 of that
issue.  The car in his article is a 1993 Saturn SL-2.  Might be a useful
idea or two in there somewhere.
