hey Carl,
I have to disagree on the D104.   In the original unamplified form, it gets
rave reviews used on my Ten Tec Scout.  I think you might have heard a
misapplication of one having the built in amplifier, now THOSE were CB mikes!
:-)

Also good on Ten Tecs I have are the ENZ from Astatic, (a "bullet" SSB
dynamic), and the Shure mobile type dynamic mikes.  And, even a SSB Electro
Voice ceramic hand mike, from about 1969.
