I don't remember it being bassy on the Heathkit Cheyenne AM mobile rig.
Could be a 636. I think it had EV and that number in the casting of the
front panel seen from the inside. Bassiness may have had been affected
by the RFI filtering and maybe the input resistance of the radio. The
D-104 suffers from too much high frequency peak, not good for a lot of
SSB radios because it overdrives the audio and modulator way outside the
transmit filter passband.
