My SWR is also affected by the advancement of the receiver's RF Gain control
(from 3 to 5 O'clock) when using a dummy load, but the effect is experienced
only on 30 meters!? The RF Gain control had no effect on SWR meter readings
on any other band.

Again, only on 30 meters, the RF Gain control also affected the reading for
the Speech Processor, moving the needle from Zero to the point on the meter
face where the SWR would be 1.5 to 1. The needle also moves slightly to the
right when the meter is switched to the Ic position (again - only on 30
meters) but the movement is very slight.

The plot thickens.....

This may be a no brainer for some but I need some help!
With my RF gain at 3:00, the SWR will be 1:3(example) if I
turn the gain fully clockwise, the SWR goes to to 1:7. The
radio is an Omni 6+, 18 months old, with no problems and this
doesn't seem to effect the performance. What's going on??
  Thanks & 73
