I'm still hoping to find a TT 223A noise blanker for my Argosy
II......Maybe someone has one they don't need?...... On another
track.....TT specifies the use of a 9A breaker with the
Argosy?II.....It's my understanding that the breaker will trip at
exactly 9A and thus protect the circuitry .....I also understand that a
9A fast blow fuse would allow some surge current for a few milliseconds
and possibly damage the rig.....I've experimented with lower value (8,
7, 6, 5) fast blow fuses and have found that the rig is very happy with
a 6A fuse and will even operate for a short time (2-3 min., key down,
full power) into 50 ohms with the 5A fuse.....Now the question.....Why
does TT specify the 9A breaker rather than a lower value fuse? ......
It seems to me that the rig would be adequately protected with the 6A
fuse..... ..........Am I overlooking something?
............................thanks......73......Kent
