Just a bit of trivia:
Back in the late seventies, I ran my C-21 mobile by backfeeding 12V into
the Accessory jack. This, of course, bypassed the power supply and the
meter circuit.
Since I didn't know where to set the drive, I put my Bird in line and
cranked the drive up to 70 watts.....
(I had that "70" figure in my head, not thinking at that moment that it
meant INPUT>
I keyed the rig a few times, and then it hit me! Ooops! I cranked the
drive back to zero and then started over again, hoping it still
worked! It did. I made a mark at 35-40 watts out and wiped the sweat
off my brow!
Tough little rig.... at least THAT proved it to me!
