I have purchased a used Centaur with 572B's installed instead of 811A's.
Are any circuit changes required? I also have several concerns on operation
that I can use some opinions on.
All voltages appear normal. Tuning is flat and I get about 450 watts max
output. Is this normal? Plate voltage about 1600 V and 100watts of drive.
On 80 meters tuning at 3820, 400 watts maximum output occurs with "0" load
setting.
On 160 meters it loads but it must be on spurious frequency because SWR
reading pegs out on resonant 50 Ohm antenna. I suspect 160 M caps may be
bad?
Is there a way to tighten the vernier load controls? My tune vernier keeps
slipping.
