I recall seeing a survey done by RSGB and published in RADCOM which ranked 
the '850 as the top contest radio among the folks surveyed.  (Mostly G's, I 
assume)  

I have never owned an '850 but have used them in M/M contest environments.  
Let's be kind and say that it's a nice Sideband radio.  I have no desire to 
own one.
