It is almost impossible in a showroom environment of a radio convention to
adequately demonstrate a radio on an antenna.  Distance to an antenna,
pickup from all the RF emitters on site, etc.   The Commercial/ Military
telemetry folks also do not demo their radios on an antenna at trade shows
because convention venues have the worst electrical noise, and RF
interference.
