Don't forget you also need a cabinet of some appropriate size/shape, a nice weight to hold it down, and the tuning knob proper. I personally cannot see spending all that $$$ for an OMNI VI/or better, and not at least getting a decent looking mount for the knob, as well as the right (more-or-less) T-T tuning knob to resemble the OMNI VI knob. All told, not $135, but enough to not be trivial-especially depending on the optical encoder you get. Some of them can get really pricey-and I have no idea what the selection criteria would be for a 'matching' encoder. All told, I reiterate: the CORRECT unit all the way around (read that:no hassles beyond paying for it & getting "Plug-'N-Play" for that money) is well worth that $135... and since they are nearly made from the fabled "unobtanium" he who hesitates is-or rather, was-lost.
