If the amp is NOT type accepted and comes from a manufacture then they are not 
illegal to us in the USA.  If they can take a four watts input and put 500 
watts to an antenna they are made for CB.  If you want to use this amp you may 
lose your ham ticket.  

If you do not want to live by part 97, maybe you are in the wrong hobby.
