Well, all's fair in love and war. Contesting is a variation of war. So using a
computer to log Q's, keep score, send CQ, and even transmit the exchange is not
cheating - any more than that big pot of black coffee just down from the
operating position is cheating.

Coffee and logging computers are both about preserving your body and keeping
your mind alert so you can operate longer and make more QSO's in the alloted
time. Nor is there anything wrong with the logging computer print out the log
after the contest.

Now - letting the computer make contacts while you, er, pursue other interests,
would be cheating. As well as a violation of the rules unless you can figure
out a way to get that box of parts a license.
