I have found that if you have the room for a 1/2 wave dipole that the
bazooka made of coax works very well, is quieter than a vertical or a open
wire dipole and more broadbanded than either. Search for bazooka or double
bazooka for instructions how to build one.  I use 1 on 40 and i am about top
build one for 80 also.  se it inverted v or flattop and use electrical wire
instead of twin lead for the end stubs.  Twinlead breaks too easily.
