The artificial ground kit from Ten Tec is outstanding buy!  Easy to
assemble, or use a quarter wave insulated wire for each band center he likes
to operate.    If he has a computer hooked to the radio, put ferrite clamp
on chokes on each lead leaving the radio.  Twist power leads and shield.
Make sure grounds are less than quarter wave long to earth, or use the
counterpoises of quarter wave wire insulated around the baseboards of the
shack.   Move the shack from being directly under the antenna.  Use ferrite
chokes on the power AC leads to power supplies as well.  Have all ham radio
AC powered equipment on same power strip to one outlet.  Review ARRL web
