Cliff, most of the garage door opener receivers are very simple and wide
band receivers, so the military might be very far from the transmitter
frequency and still interfere.   As Part 15 devices, they are marketed under
the agreement they will suffer any interference from licensed or authorized
users.

It does seem that FCC has allowed some potential bad RFI cases by choices of
band assignments.
