Actually ICOM went to some effort to incorporate QSK on their rigs plus 
they also added many features that are useful to cw operators. It isn't 
completely fair to say the don't care. It's just this one nagging problem 
they have with the timing. Kenwood rigs do not chop the characters and 
most of them have some form of QSK. Yaesu rigs such as the MP have decent 
QSK up to a point and they don't chop the dits. It's almost as if ICOM 
goes out of their way to make this happen. Furthermore, from what I've 
observed, TenTec is starting to let fast QSK fall by the wayside. I think 
if you compare the turnaround time of the Orion with a Corsair you would 
see what I mean. 
BTW: I would post this to the ICOM reflector but it would get chopped 
up!!!
