Mark, those of us who seriously use QRP for contesting like Field Days, use
superior, (gain) antennas. Instead of an off center dipole, put up a Double
Zepp and you will have the gain. You can bend the outer ends of the legs
if needed to fit your space. Use ladder line feed all the way to the tuner,
and use either an external to the tune Van Gorden 4:1 balun with one foot
coax jumper to tuner, or ferrite beads on one foot of coax to choke RF off
the outside of tuner case.

The Argonaut V is fine on SSB at 20 watts if the bands are open, and you
have a antenna up in the clear, capable of some gain. For 20 and up gain,
Google and find the Spiderbeam web site. The DL station will send you for
free all the assembly instructions or you can buy a kit for them. The Ten
Tec terminated Vee beam is also capable of gain on 20 and up.

Stuart
