I've had this happen when too much sunlight falls on the TV
ir window. I figured the ir in the sunlight overloaded the
input sensor.

>Here's one for you guys. Yesterday the remotes on my Sanyo
32" TV and my Mintek DVD player stopped working. Well, they
didn't stop but rather only worked from a foot away from the
remote sensors. At first I only noticed the TV's remote
didn't work. So I put new batteries in it then cleaned the
remote sensor. Still wouldn't work. Finally, I tried my
DVD player to finish watching a DVD. I then discovered it
was doing exactly the same thing as my TV remote, working
from just a foot away. I checked the batteries and they
were fine. Then I tried my vcr's remote. It worked fine.
Then I tried my TV and DVD remotes. Suddenly they were
working again from across the room. What they heck was
going on? The only thing I could think of was that RF from
my Ten-Tec Omni 6 Plus was getting into the TV and the DVD's
remote sensoning circuitry. The Sanyo TV was bought in
October 2001. The Mintek DVD player was bought in July
2003. The VCR is about from 1998. Also this has happ
>ened b4. My tv remote stops working then after several
hours mysteriously starts working again. I was not using
the DVD player at those time, so I don't know if that was
screwing up too. But do you think it could be RF from my
100-watt rig getting into the remote sensoning circuitry and
screwing it up for a few hours??
