That's the best way to get the SWR down on a tuned input AMP...... use a VSWR
bridge to set for lowest SWR where you plan to do the most operating on each
band. You could use the SWR indicator of your OMNI.... after all that's the
point that really counts.

I hooked up an Ameritron AL811 to my OMNI V.
I get full output on all bands but on 10 meters when I put OMNI V meter to
reflected power it shows an SWR of almost 3 to 1.
SWR creeps up the meter slowly but holds steady at about at a little under 3
  to 1.
I show flat SWR on the antenna side.
It seems to be flat on SSB.
The high SWR shows up on tune and only on 10 meters.
Tried to find information on the archives but no luck.
I am wondering if this could hurt the OMNI V?
I was told that the OMNI V has a foldback feature and it would cut power to
the amp if I had a problem.
I don't know if I should mess with the tuned input slug for 10 meters.
Would probably use the meter on the OMNI V to adjust the slug for lower SWR.
I have a Bird but no 100W slug only 1000W so Can't use what I should.
  Thanks in advance.
