While the Tentec transverters are quite good, their performance in terms of being able to handle high IM environments and operate with a low noise figure just doesn't happen with them. I have one each of the 6 M and 2 M models. They work but at the same time the DEM units will blow them away in high RF prone environments and the noise figure of the DEM is very good to the point that I hear signals off of the moon on 2M with a single 10 ele long yagi and no external preamp. The Tentec is no where close to this performance. Of course the DEM unit is some 2X the cost of the Tentec too.

In my book, performance counts.

Duane:
Thanks for the comparitive. I thought it was well done for someone, like me,
that has very little knowledge about transverters. Would you care to say
something about the TenTec 2mtr converters? I was thinking of using one on
my Omni-C and/or my Corsair II. Anyway I thought it was a well done
comparitive and easy to understand.
Thank you,
