I don't think that is correct. The 705 has been sold for many years as a
assembled and tested mic. It may have been available as a kit as well.
The 706 is similar but there are some changes in the PTT/VOX logic as
I recall. Don't have the details in front of me so can't say exactly what
the differences are. A call to Ten Tec should answer your questions
quickly.
