David, If you don't have much of a "flywheel" effect you need to loosen the tension on the knob. You may even have to loosen the knob on the shaft and slide it out a little to lessen the tension enough. With a good flick of the tuning knob I can move 23 - 24 KHz on the 10Hz tuning step setting. 73, Alan N5NA David H.
