I would choose the PRO III - - - if looking for a boat anchor, but as a
radio, being that I work CW and contests, and I live in Europe where I need
a good front-end in my receiver, I would certainly choose the Orion.
I guess if you want something to show off to your non-ham friends, the
Pro-III with its color display is more impressive, but the Orion's receiver
is simply superior.
