I am using the loop, which worked perfectly until the new firmware update. Pulling either of the QSK control cables disables the O2 from transmit unless you shut down the keying loop in the menu. The workaround is to use PTT, which I did for the first few days I had the O2 and works fine, although I worry that I may not be protecting my vacuum relay as much as I did with the TT QSK.

Cute :-) I guess you're sure it's the radio and not the amp that's doing
something hinky?

So TX OUT is spuriously pulling low even though you aren't keying the radio?
Or is getting stuck there? Is the amp pulling the TX EN line low in
response?

Have you tried pulling the amp cable off the TX OUT line when the radio is
in that state, and verifying that the Orion is pulling the line low
continuously?

I've assumed you're using the loop with the Titan (?). I guess the trick is
going to be figuring out at exactly what point, or what was going on, when
that happened. It ought to be possible to just hang a suitable meter on TX
OUT and play with the radio until it pulls low and sticks there.

I found my first bug in the Orion II 2.031 firmware. I
noticed that the receive signals were down near zero, as if
the antenna was disconnected. It was. In QSK mode (Ten Tec
Titan 425 with QSK), at some point the O2 signals the amp to
go into transmit, while the radio is still in receive.
Transmit is normal, but the amp never unkeys. Going back to
regular PTT (setting both on amp and O2 menu) mode cures the
problem. Putting the amp in standby also restores the
receive signal. QSK was working fine prior to the new
firmware. The amp is actually in transmit, and I can see the
normal idle current on the plate. This happens in both SSB
and CW. Tried a master reset, and no change.
