I do feel that open expression of opinions is valuable, so that
interested individuals might evaluate the information.
As a new member of the TenTec family of equipment owners, I realize
that the TenTec family has a higher than usual number of radio
connoisseurs like myself. I can find faults in the University's
$50,000+ Agilent, et al equipment.
How much more so might there be temporary bugs in a software-intensive
$4000 radio, or in $100 Windows XP software with hundreds of software
engineers working non-stop for years on features & fixes.
I think we all value the reports of sometimes serious bugs--but
potential buyers especially must put these valid reports in context.
Every substantial piece of electronic equipment from HW-101 to Pentium
IV processors has had numerable bugs that the manufacturer and user
community has been able to fix and work around to make success.
