Randy, all I can say about your CW questions, is to read the QST reviews of
the rigs you mention and compare the technical specs published on the
internet comparison tables.
The Jones filter of the Scout compares well with the Argonaut V filtering on
my V, on CW.
The speed issue is a non issue. I know of few CW folks who sustain 25 wpm
without a pause at SOME point, at which the micro in the Scout catches up.
I believe if you do not use the built in keyer, you can go faster, but I am
not a diehard CW man.
For the money, the Scout is a best buy!
I find a $1 plastic ice box tray makes a handy holder for unused Band
modules. Thus, I can carry one band module in the radio, and 8 in the tray.
(yes, I have all bands for my Scout).
