Carl
I'd really be interested to try out your AGC settings. I too mostly tune the
low bands at sunup/down, at my station all CW. I find setting AGC to OFF and
riding the RF gain control produces the best results I've had so far. Would you
mind forwarding the AGC setup you use in the described conditions (QRN from
mama nature)?
My O1 with V2.059 has crashed a couple times, restored with pwr off/on. Also I
went thru setting up USER1 and 2 for CW and rtty respectively, and somehow one
day Poof, they're gone! Other than that it's been reliable.
My Timewave DSP59+ is still the best on noise reduction.
The O1 receiver performance is....KaPOW....simply stunning.

I also much prefer the AGC that is in V2. I believe it works much better on
very weak signals, especially with thunder crashing on 80 and 160. I also
very much like the live sweep on V2. I can tell in an instant how open a
band is just by looking at the sweep display. I also very much like the
much faster serial port response from V2. This is important to me because I
run my N4PY software exclusively when I use my Orion. Also, I find V2
extremely stable.
