TenTec claims the new radios all have fast acting supply protection. I
use a 20amp snappack switch in my Astron35. I trip the snappack at about
90watts out when using the Orion..So I would think it is best to have
TenTec give you the scoop.

I have read a couple of posts about Power Supplies and overload protection.
I am using my Orion with an Astron SS-30M and so far no issues. Would I be
better to switch to the TenTec 963, which I also have available but
currently do not have in service ? Does it have the overload protection
that others are talking about ?
I think the TenTec power supplys do have overload protection. That's why
their rigs don't. Better check this out but I would think one would be better
off to use theirs.
