Grant, I have to call you on this one.

Ahhhh, then arguably we could say that taking advantage of the serial
port in our Orions for rig control, or using contesting/logging software
during a contest is NOT REALLY CONTESTING! because that isn't how we use
to do it! And to be a real contester one must log and dupe the OLD way
or they are just another...

Seriously, as an engineer at Heath in the early 80s two of my first projects
where the u5010 memory keyer (what is this memory stuff about?) and the HD-8999
CW Keyboard. Both were big products for Heath at the time.... both allowed CW
ops a degree of relief when it came to hand fatigue and movement coordination.

Now, nearly 30 years later I am becoming an OF at 55 with advancing chronic
arthritis in my hands... not so bad yet that I can't ever send with my paddles,
but bad enough that my frequency of errors is steadily increasing. Yet I can
still 'hear' the music and love the mode, yet I have become sadly reluctant to
get on the air as there are others who feel like Grant does. And I hate to
disappoint! Guess hams like me should just hang up the mode, right? Hate to
become...

"nothing more than some schmuck typing on a keyboard."

Oh, and finally, just when I get enough energy to come back to this reflector
as sometimes there are some gems of knowledge/experience t be had, I run
into....
nothing more than some schmuck typing on a keyboard! :)
