Aren't you just seeing the AGC (automatic gain control) at work? Note 
that for simplicity, the ArgoV does not give you access to this 
setting. You don't have On/OFF, you don't have Fast/Slow (though I'm 
sure its characteristics adjust to your current mode). It's not a 
bug, it's a feature.
