Stan,

I have had this problem in the past. I did an Orion reset and also rebooted
my computer after turning it off since I did not want any confusion from my
USB to serial adapter. After doing the reset of the Orion, all loaded well.
Good luck.

John

Subject: [TenTec] Flash update not working

OK, this is weird. When I try to flash v.2.060b to the Orion, nothing
happens. The update screen displays "ORION ROM UPDATE FILE" and at the
bottom it displays "0 of 9521 Lines Processed." And then it just sits there.
It isn't just 2.060, I've tried other versions and the same thing happens. I
know the com port is working with the Orion because it communicates with the
N4PY software and with my logging program (dxbase) successfully. [I have
tried the flash with both of them turned off.] The com port is set at 57600,
n, 8, 1, with flow control off (could that be the problem?-does flash
require xon/xoff or hardware handshaking?). I'm beginning to think there is
something wrong with the I/O on the flash chip and that this might require a
trip to Dolly Parton. Any ideas?
