Subject: [TenTec] O II RF distortion in SSB audio
Hello all, I love my OII, but am struggling with RF garbage getting back
into my TX SSB audio. I have been diligent with all the basics, grounding,
physical separation of equipment, using ferrite chokes etc. Yes, I am in the
near field of my antenna but unfortunately I am on a very small lot and not
many options are available to me on moving my antenna.
My question is why do I have NO problems with my 706MKIIG in the same
situation? Is it inherant that a hot front end like Orion is just more
sensitive to RF, or has TT missed the ball somewhere in shielding the Orion?
I would really like to keep the OII, but if I can't clean it up, I may have
to change. The rig has been back to TT for repair of another item and has
had a recent bench check with an all ok checklist done. Any replies are
appreciated as always. 73, Todd - KT0DD
