Gary,

Page 2-6 of my manual says:

"METER SWITCH
In receive mode, the meter will automatically read S units when the METER
switch is in any position except IC"

I'm pretty sure the reason is that for all the other functions one side of the
meter can be grounded; but when measuring IC both sides of the meter float
above ground to measure volt drop across an "in-line" 0.015 Ohm resistor.

Subject: [TenTec] Corsair II - No S-Meter Reading?

I have a Corsair II which has developed a no S-Meter reading (meter needle
stays on "0") when the meter switch is Ic position during receive. When the
meter switch is in the SWR, FWD, or Process positions normal S-Meter readings
are indicated during receive. All other meter functions including Ic during
transmit are normal.

Any ideas on the problem, failed component, remediation? Thanks!

  Best regards,
