the new high end rigs from Yaesu and Icom. The only things those radios need to complete the look are tailfins and chrome. They look like parodies of radios, with the obvious intent being to place as many buttons and knobs as physically possible on the front panel, regardless of function... ridiculous. My sentiments exactly, and Omni 6? > 1. Exposed screw heads on the front panel. Never bothered me. Huh? How small would they have to be to not be "Big kit-built"? I never made that association, and now that you mention it I still don't see it.> 2. Big kit-built looking LEDs. Wonder if someone had your Omni VI opened up and forgot to put back some parts. Mine has never had this.> 3. Panel lights shining through around button holes. I admit that my Omni VI does not look like a VCR or Home Theater stereo system, and I prefer that it does not.
