I liked Bwana Bob's comments, specially the brief response. My comment to
the question "do these rigs compare favorably with the (big 3) on voice?"
Actually, they don't!.............they are better!

Of course there's different operators, different mikes, different mike
techniques and radio adjustments that will impact the sound of any radio on
SSB. Actually, none of them sound bad. Some just sound better than others.
The biggest fault largely lies in the mike and with the way the operator
uses same and sets up the radio. Any radio can be made to sound bad, most
sound good and a very few sound GREAT!

If you want a radio that has the CW QSK performance that the others try to
achieve, then you want a Tentec. If you want a radio that has direct
internet connection without a local computer, you want a Tentec. If you
want a radio that has one of the best receivers on the market, then you want
a Tentec.

If you want a radio that has all the whistles and bells known to man, and a
few yet to be imagined, then you likely don't want a Tentec.

I view it as "performance is what counts" and that comes from a Tentec
radio. I encourage you to review Bob Sherwood Engineering performance
measurements on current production radios. Here's the link:

Welcome, John, and, yes, they are excellent SSB radios, too.
