John,

Don't worry about it. The suggestions made a lot fo sense. Frankly the one
I could implement is putting the zener diodes across the meters. My meters
also read low, in my opinion.

You know I sold an AL1500 that worked flawlessly. I packed it in three
ORIGINAL cartons, yet it had problems for him. Turned out to be some
loose/bad connections. Fortunately he's a retired EE and could easily
troubleshoot it all.

I think there's some logic that some of those fixed capacitors might not be
happy any longer.

Don't worry about it. Did you get the one I sent you with the Gunny and the
IED that almost got him? Boy, we need more folks like him, don't we.

I feel bad you are experiencing problems with your centurion . I want you
to know that the amp never was abused or did I see any evidence of arcing .

I'm having some recurring arcing on my Centurion whether in to dummy load or
antenna. I think the plates may have been pitted when I got it as it
happens so easily.

As noted in the Subject Line, it is a Centurion.

Have any of you replaced the plate capacitor, and if so, did you use Ten Tec
OEM spec part or find something with a higher voltage rating? Any of you
ever put in a vacuum variable instead?

Finally, does anybody know what the voltage rating of the plate capacitor
is?

I find that even into a dummy load I wind up giving the amplifier full load
capacitance, which is not what the manual expects. Anyone else have similar
experience?

Toying with sending it to Sevierville, but not yet convinced. All feedback
appreciated.

Art, KØRO
