MFJ does have a variety of balanced line tuners. Check out their
current catalog.
On the subject of the tuner being balanced itself, L. B. Cebik, noted antenna guru, (W4RNL) has modeled that even the end fed so called Zepp Antenna may have only 10 per cent imbalance with one of its parallel feeders open circuit at the antenna, and the other connected traditionally to the end of the wire. Others have reported good matching using L networks to match even a balanced antenna feeder. Due attention in any tuner and its application is to present the tuner with a length of feeder that does not shift the impedance to be matched too high or low for the range of the tuner. Primarily avoid odd multiples of quarter wave feeder at the band in use. -Stuart K5KVH |
