Thank you for the response. This mic has a place for a 9 volt battery. I
assume it gets battery power. It has an 8 pin plug, I will have to install a
4 pin plug. So if you say the pre-amp is needed, I will install the battery
and wire it for the 4 pin plug.

DW, The 705 should be wired to plug directly into the Omni 6. It uses the
pre amp and should obtaing its power from the rig.

I just aquired a Omni VI Plus and from a different source, I have a 705
mic.
I'm not familiar with thie mic. It has a circuit board (pre-Amp) built
in.
My question, should I use the pre-amp or bypass it and connect the output
directly to the Omni VI?
