Thank you for your help. I have not received the rig yet, hopefully tomorrow. The manual should have the pin out for the mic, at least I hope so.

If you wire the 4 pin plug correctly, the mic will receive it's power directly
from the Omni VI and the battery will not be needed.  The battery is for
applications where the radio being used does not provide mic power.
