I hooked up the serial data port on my Paragon II to my computer for
logging of the frequency. There is a buzzing noise in the
speaker/headphones with every data string. The volume of the noise does
not depend on the band in use, whether an antenna or a terminator is
connected, the mode or band. The only controls on the rig that do affect
the noise are the audio gain and the tone controls. Seems like the noise
is getting into the audio stages, maybe through a power supply common to
both the RS-232 board and the audio stages. Have any of you experienced
anything like this with a Paragon or Paragon II? It never happened with
my Omni VI.
